Beast of the Week: Tim Battle

"The only job I ever wanted was to be in radio and that’s been my dream job. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else than radio."

Tim Battle is a well-known radio personality in Nashville. He's the producer of The Bobby Bones Show on THE BIG 98 and can also be heard on 97.5 Alt Nashville, 105.9 The Rock and 107.5 The River. So basically his voice is all over the city and you can't escape him. Luckily, he's an awesome dude and you wouldn't want to anyway. Check out his interview below.

How long have you been a radio personality?

I have been a radio personality for over 10 years now.

What made you want to become a radio personality?

Growing up, I was always interested in radio. You know when people ask you in school what do you want to be when you grow up, kids would say Doctor, Police Officer, etc. I had always told people that when I grew up I was going to be on the radio. Some people laughed at it and some people knew I was going to do that because I would never stop talking.

What is your favorite genre of music?

My favorite kind of genre? Hmmm that's a very tough one. I would have to say I like all genres. Being a radio personality on a Top 40, Classic Rock, and Alternative station, I listen to just about everything.

What’s the best part about your job?

The best part of my job would have to be getting to be a DJ on the radio stations I grew up listening to. It also has its perks, like going to concerts and meeting artists.

Who’s your favorite person you’ve met through your job?

There have been many favorites I've met while working in radio. For example, Garth Brooks when he came in would talk to you and get to know you unlike some artists that just come in and say hi and bye. It’s really tough on trying to pick a favorite but if I had to say it would be Lukas Graham. That was one I got to bring my son along since he's his favorite artist and Lukas sat there and talked to my son for a good 15 mins just getting to know him. So I would have to say Lukas because it was a moment I got to share with my son.

What do you do when you’re not on air?

When I’m not on the air, I’m usually either somewhere on social media - twitter/ Instagram (battleonair), Snapchat (theradiobattle), blogging for my radio show, or spending time with my wife and two kids.

If you could have any other job, what would it be?

I really don’t have an answer for that one. The only job I ever wanted was to be in radio and that’s been my dream job. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else than radio.
